Five artists in a technological fondue...
The Static Age crosses the boundaries of media arts, including scratch film, pinhole photography, installation, sculpture, screen-printing etc.
The Film night on the 6th of June will focus on experimental short films.
"Wintertime' is inspired by dinosaur technology, like the computers left out on the street for council collections. The artwork consists of an inflatable plastic dome that contains a computer graveyard inside it. The graveyard is made out of a bright palette consisting of artificial materials like fake turf, fake flowers, gaffer tape and polystyrene balls that brings on the hyper-death in all its full blown glory. By being made with specific materials, the work is modular and could have the potential to one day become mail-art.
