Guest Speaker: John Monteleone, Acting Director of Wollongong City Gallery.
The Illawarra has a long artistic cultural heritage and the TAFE visual arts school at West Wollongong has had a large part to play in this. Many of it's students have gone on to study and exhibit both nationally and internationally . The high calibre of its teaching staff is also well recognised and has included acclaimed artists, such as Ian Gentle, Ron Lambert and Susan Archer.
The West Wollongong visual arts graduation exhibition is a great opportunity for Illawarra residents to see the work of their up and coming artists first hand (maybe the next Paul Ryan). The show titled" Le Bateau Ivre" will be at Project Contemporary Art Space,255 Keira St, Wollongong from 25/ 11/09 - 6/ 12/09, opening night is Friday 27th November 6.30pm. The guest speaker will be John Monteleone of Wollongong city gallery. So come and see the culmination of three years hard work from these exciting and talented artists. Entertainment and refreshments will be available.
